Competitions – League/Trophy Galas
League competitions generally involve three or more rounds of galas where we compete as a club against other clubs on Saturday evenings at various different venues. ‘Trophy’ galas are one-off events with a similar format to league galas.
We currently enter the following leagues:
- National Arena Swimming League
- Derby and Notts League
- Notts ASA League Stage 3
- JC Dobb league
We currently enter the following trophy galas:
- Notts ASA Stage 1
- LLeisure trophy gala
- Nottingham City Swim School relay gala

National Arena Swimming League
The premier competition for all swimming clubs in the country. Our excellent performance in this competition is a true representation of how strong the club is in terms of both swimmers and management.
Three galas (October to December).
Age groups: 11yrs, 13yrs, 15yrs and open
Races are 50m & 100m
Derby and Notts League
This is the junior equivalent of the National Arena league and is highly competitive in this region. Bramcote SC reached the final of this league in 2016, 2017, 2018, 2019.
Three galas (March to June).
Age groups: 8/9 yrs, 10yrs, 11yrs and 13yrs
Races are 25m & 50m
Notts ASA Competitions
There are 3 local Notts ASA competitions, we participate in Stage 1 and Stage 3 competitions.
Stage 1 has one off trophy galas through the year-January, April, June, October.
Age groups: 8yrs, 9 yrs, 10yrs and 11yrs
Races are 25m & 50m
Stage 3 is run as a league over 3 rounds in the spring.
Age groups are 12/under, 14/under and open
Races are 100m
JC Dobb Memorial League
A league with 6 teams from across the county aimed at less experienced competitors.
Six galas (March-November).
Age groups: 10/under, 12/under, 14/under and open.
Races are 25m & 50m
LLeisure Trophy gala
An annual competition for novice swimmers hosted by Lleisure at Bramcote LC with swimmers from Lleisure Swim School competing alongside local clubs.
Age groups: 9/under, 11/under and 13/under
Races are 25m
Nottingham Swim School Trophy gala
An annual competition for novice swimmers hosted by Nottingham Swim School at Harvey Hadden Sports Village, with swimmers from Nottingham Swim School competing alongside local clubs.
Age groups: 9/under, 11/under and 13/under
Races are 25m and 50m
